Gonna crayola the crap out of that!

Quick update.
Went to see the Endocrinologist that I’ll be seeing on a regular basis after the surgery to make sure I’m getting the correct dosage of Thyroid Hormone replacement drugs.  He talked with me about what will happen after the surgery, which includes them doing a biopsy on the mass to find out if it is benign or malignant.  If it turns out to be malignant they’ll have me take an Iodine therapy to kill the leftover cancer cells.  He mentioned that there was little to no side-effects from this pill, I’ll come in to the office, they’ll give me the pill, and send me on my way.  J
Received a phone call from the ENT Dr. I’m seeing, he wanted to inform me that they’re moving my surgery from Overlake Hospital in Bellevue to Virginia Mason in Seattle.  They’re doing this because they’re having a hard time finding a time to have it done within the next 3 weeks at Overlake.  I can’t say that I’m all that happy with having it moved over to Seattle since it was SO much easier to make to Overlake even though I live in White Center.  Oh well, I guess.  With the move of location, I now have an appointment with the Dr. that will be assisting with the surgery from Virginia Mason’s side.  Luckily, I was able to get squeezed in on Friday morning since I’ve already got my Ultrasound appt. set for Friday afternoon and they’re both on Capitol Hill.  That’s a huge relief, but it also means another day with little to no work, which means no money…  That’s quickly becoming one of my bigger fears out of all this, not being able to work and earn any money to pay for the treatment and regular bills.  Let alone being able to keep my job with all this time off I’m having to take.  My employer states that I should be ok due to FMLA, which provides some relief to my worrying mind, but it’s still an uneasy feeling as my employment scenario is a bit odd.  (It’s almost like I work for two different companies).  Both sides of my family have informed me that they’re willing to help me out with the treatment/surgery costs which is wonderful, I just hate having to do it though.  I hate having to ask people for money.
A lot of people have been inquiring when my surgery will be, unfortunately, at the moment I don’t have date, as soon as I get one I’ll be sure to let you all know.  My expectation is that it’s going to be sometime between next week and the first week of December as the ENT doctor has informed me that he wanted to get it completed within 4 weeks and that was a week and a half ago.  They’ll need to look at the Ultrasound that’s being done Friday to know how much needs to be removed and if they’ll need to cut into the left side of my neck as well as the middle and right side.
That’s all for now, folks.  Until next time!
